FAQs

I find it helpful to include some frequently asked questions here:

Do you accept insurance? How Much Does Therapy Cost?

I am currently an out-of-network provider, so I do not accept insurance, I apologize. However, I can provide a Superbill for reimbursement. I accept all major credit or debit cards, no cash or check payments can be accepted.  Please contact your insurance company directly to inquire about your benefits.

A limited number of sliding scale spots are available for clients who may not be able to afford the full fee. If cost is a barrier, you’re welcome to reach out to discuss options. Sliding scale spots are limited and not available for couples/relationship counseling. Reduced rates typically range from $80-120,  require proof of income (formal pay adjustment letter or recent paycheck/offer letter), and depend on financial need and availability. Sliding scale appointments are typically offered during earlier (10a-1p)  time slots. These appointments are calculated generally as .15% of an individual/family's total income as the per session cost.

I just moved out of Washington State can I still see you?

Unfortunately, Clients must be residents of and located in Washington state when receiving telehealth (virtual) services due to licensure restrictions.

What does the intake process look like?

Couples/Polycules:

The 1st session, called the 'intake,' is a chance to hear about what’s bringing you in, what you hope to achieve, and any questions you might have about therapy. We will send you the Gottman Assessment, talk about your goals, and ask about your experiences, relationships, and what’s going on in your life right now.

For the 2nd & 3rd sessions, I will have an individual session with each partner to get a better idea of each of your individual perspectives

In the 4th session, We will reconvene and discuss how to meet your goals moving forward. We will be using the Gottman Assessment to assess relationship dynamics and further discuss the Sound Relationship House Theory in this session.

Individuals/Teens:

We'll take some time to get to know each other; similar to the couples intake.

We start with an assessment of your symptoms, life experiences, and socio-cultural dynamics to understand the context of your experience. We will informally talk about your goals for therapy and create a space for growth and exploration.

How long does therapy "take"?

There is no “one-size fits all” answer to this question. Length of therapy is dependent on client-therapist fit, session frequency, the client’s motivation and awareness, trauma history, and external stressors, to name a few variables. Typically, research says clients may experience a measurable difference after 9-12 sessions.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

At this time, we are prioritizing virtual sessions for new clients. All video calls are HIPPA compliant. More info on an in person space coming in Summer 2026.
