Therapy for relationships navigating conflict, change, and connection.
I offer counseling for all relationships; monogamous, polyamorous, and relationship anarchic arrangements. I also provide premarital counseling to help couples build a strong foundation early on.
In Couples/Relationship therapy, we focus on assessment-based techniques and interventions based on the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Relationship therapy can be a space to better understand recurring patterns, improve communication, navigate conflict, and build more meaningful connection. Together, we can explore the ways you and your partner or partners relate to one another and develop a deeper understanding of the patterns that shape your relationship.
We might work on:
-
Communication and recurring conflict
-
Emotional connection and intimacy
-
Understanding relationship patterns
-
Rebuilding trust
-
Infidelity
-
Premarital counseling
-
Navigating major life transitions
-
Differences in needs, expectations, or values
-
Polyamorous and consensually non-monogamous relationships
-
Relationship anarchy
-
Separation and relationship decisions

What to Expect When Starting Relationship Therapy
The first four sessions of relationship therapy are designed to help us understand your relationship, your individual experiences, and what you hope to accomplish together.
The First Session: Intake
The first session, called the intake, is a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you hope to achieve, and any questions you may have about the process.
We will discuss your goals for therapy and talk about your experiences, relationships, and what is happening in your life right now. You will also receive the Gottman Assessment, which will help us better understand your relationship and the areas you would like to work on together.
The Second & Third Sessions: Individual Sessions
For the second and third sessions, I will meet individually with each partner. These sessions provide an opportunity to better understand each of your individual perspectives, experiences, and histories.
Meeting individually also allows each person to have space to discuss their experiences and perspectives in greater depth as we develop a fuller understanding of the relationship.
The Fourth Session: Moving Forward Together
In the fourth session, we will reconvene to discuss what we have learned and how we can work together to meet your goals moving forward.
We will use the Gottman Assessment to further assess relationship dynamics and discuss the Sound Relationship House Theory. Together, we will begin identifying the patterns, strengths, and areas of growth that will help guide our work together.
